Lastly, the work combines historical data with contemporary processes, in a way that draws lessons from the past while recognizing that changing circumstances usually revise governmental responses.

The art is fantastic of course

This is my first "adult coloring book". I'm mostly enjoying the coloring book, although a lot of the pages are very busy and it's sometimes hard to figure out where one character ends and another starts when there is so much overlap. At least that makes you appreciate the work of the actual comic book colorists all the more! The art is fantastic of course, although I'm partial to the splash pages that aren't as busy. I've included scans of two completed and one in progress page. I'm using both felt tip pens and a good set of colored pencils, although I often find I need more colors. The paper is nice and heavy, but I don't think it's heavy enough for watercolor paint, although I may try. As a comic book fan, it's hard to color these pages/characters in anything other than their "actual" colors, although I think I'm doing better at getting away from that. I think it will be hard for most comic book fans to not look for color guides for these characters and just try to go with what works for you. No criticism from me either way, it's all for fun. It's nice to be able to pull the pages out of the book. Images are on one side of the page only, and there is a good variety of pages included, from splash pages to pages with comic book panels (no lettering). On the inside front and back covers there are a total of eight colored pages if you want to use them for reference, although you will not find all of the characters present in the book referenced there. For many of the pages expect to sit down and spend a lot of time getting them finished. I marked it down one star because a lot of the pages are so busy, so heavily inked, that I don't think they're suitable for a coloring book. Also, the black inked parts will smear into your colors if you rub them too hard, or use a blending pencil as I did on some of the pages.

Best comic coloring book available!

Great book. As one of the lower reviews points out, some of these images do appear as sketches (on the more difficult/busy pages, it is hard to determine what certain elements are), however, all said, this is a beautiful and true-to-comic art form for coloring. Fans that want to take time to color, to enjoy the heroes and villains that they adore (from Marvel) and are looking for a good quality book, THIS IS IT! There are some plain/boring images, but for the most part, the book has some great images! Backs of pages are blank, and pages easily tear out for coloring. I've used colored pencils and markers. Heavier markers (i.e. copics) will bleed through fairly easily, but this is a great book for colored pencils or inks.

After months of anticipation, I finally received the Color your Own from Marvel. I love the details in the book and can't wait to start coloring. An excellent buy for $6.79. I will post pics of my favorite pages. Must buy for coloring book/comic fans!!

A head & shoulder above "An Introduction"

Undoubtedly, this is a great book. The reason I rated four was because this book is much more technical that "An Introduction" to L2 acquisition. I felt some chapters are mainly related to theoretical linguistics than SLA or maybe my expectations were different the title of this book.
I would certainly recommend this book to those who are into applied linguistics an linguistics.

Poor-quality binding and haphazard-seeming layout

The layout of this book is distracting. Theories from linguistics seem poorly characterized and represented. The general tone of narration is unscientific. Perhaps I'm just not enamored of this approach to language acquisition, or to this field (second-language acquisition, ESL pedagogy), in general, so I suppose I shouldn't fault the author, who is eminent in the field. Perhaps it's just esthetics--I think the previous edition of this book is better laid-out and easier to read (typographically speaking). Major complaint is the poor quality of the book binding--the pages near the back of the book have started falling out and I've had to tape them back in, to hold them together. I take *exceptionally* good care of all my books, and I was hoping to sell this back, but the quality of the binding makes that impossible now.

Although I haven't finished reading the whole book, its been a great, informative, and beneficial book for me to read and study for
my TESOL Master's program. It has questions to challenge the reader and from time to time tasks to do. I would recommend to
any linguistic student or anyone preparing to become a TESOL/ESL instructor in the future.

Good Story

Georgie and Nina are best friends with one major difference. Georgie has long known she never wants kids and relishes the freedom that life choice brings. Nina on the other hand wants nothing more than to be a mother. Married for several years she and her husband have endured the rollercoaster of IVF with no success and it has taken its toll on their relationship. Deciding that she can't go through the torturous process again Nina and Georgie go out drinking one night and with her inhibitions lowered Nina asks her friend if she will be her surrogate.

Nobody is more surprised than Georgie herself when she reluctantly agrees to do the ultimate favour for her best friend. But as often happens in life things don't go quite as smoothly as planned, leading the two women on a journey that tests their friendship and teaches them surprising things about themselves. Georgie is hard to like at times and I can't say I really grew to enjoy her character. I don't know that she was as fully developed as she could have been, although she was realistic enough.

Although She's Having Her Baby explores the heartbreaking theme of infertility it does so in a way that includes many light hearted and humorous moments. Those who have been through pregnancy will relate to the cravings and unwelcome changes it brings to your body and those who haven't will gain some insight into what it is all about. The description of some of the mothers in the playground is funny but perhaps a little cliched.

All in all this is an enjoyable story with some surprising plot twists that kept it more interesting than the blurb suggests. I will say I enjoyed it more as it went along. The writing is good with an engaging style and the dialogue is natural and authentic for the characters. I also enjoyed the contemporary Australian setting. It is a promising debut for Lauren Sams and will no doubt appeal to those who enjoy an engaging chick lit novel.

Such a fab debut novel, funny and heartwarming. Ms Sam deals with a heart rending topic with a deft, light touch, the dialogue and characters fairly spring to life on the pages. Look forward to reading more from this clever new voice.

Dr. S. Graham Kelly has been a faculty member and administrator at The University of Akron since 1982. He is the author of one textbook in Vibrations, now in its second edition, another text on System Dynamics and Response, and the author of the Schaum's Outline in Mechanical Vibrations. Dr. Kelly has served The University of Akron in its administration as Associate Provost and most recently as Interim Dean of Engineering.

Overall this book is probably the best Dynamic Systems book I have gone through

Book is mediocre and difficult to follow. Students be warned.... The solutions manual for this product has numerous errors and teachers have assigned these problems to see who is actually doing the work. Overall this book is probably the best Dynamic Systems book I have gone through.

To be fair, I had Dr. Kelly as a professor, so I could be a bit skewed. The book is easy to follow, and is defiantly an extension of Dr. Kelly's teaching. The book is a great resource to preparing for higher level work.
