A hunt pursues, clues are given and the baskets are finally spied up in a tree. Then at bedtime, it's Little Bunny's turn for a surprise when Baby Brother leaves an Easter treat under her pillow. Modesitt and Spowart (Mama, If You Had a Wish) keep the action simple?the prose hews to a solid structure, and the artwork depends on a minimal use of line. The tenderness of the text shows up in the art, in Spowart's radiant blending of colors; her shading technique gives the bunnies a soft and inviting look. An endnote offers instructions for decorating eggs with paint and glitter. Just right for tucking into an Easter basket. Ages 2-6.

The members of a rabbit family take turns being ``Easter Bunny'' for one another. After Little Bunny and her baby brother find their hidden baskets, Little Bunny has a surprise for her parentsshe's hidden baskets for them. They are really hard to find; only after she drops some hints are the baskets discovered, up in the trees. Later that night, Little Bunny discovers one last surprise under her pillow, where her brother has hidden some jelly beans for her. The bunnies are shown against a palette of spring pastels in this calming, comfortable tale, which is just right for tucking into a basket or reading the day of the egg hunt. Sweet family story

I love this book because of the sweet family message that it gives. Little Bunny is greatly looking forward to Easter, but not just because of the Easter basket she'll receive. This year, little Bunny has secretly prepared Easter baskets of her own, for her mother, father, and baby brother. So after she has the fun of finding her own Easter basket, she has even more fun giving clues to her family, to help them find her gift. And at the end of the day, there is one more surprise, and this one is for Little Bunny from her baby brother! This loving little story is illustrated with soft pastels, and warmly celebrates the joy of giving.

A sweet book

The synopses of this book accurately describe the story line and pictures but I have to add that this story captures the sweetness of the love that can exist in a family so beautifully. The love between the siblings is particularly charming.
